Short History
The story about us is very deep with complexity. This is because we are traced to belong to a very religious and biblical folks in the history of human race on earth. In short form, we are Igbo ethnic group of people basically from Nigeria in West African Sub region. We (the first group) left Nigeria shortly before the civil unrest in Nigeria, during the tumult of the civil war in 1967 that lasted for almost three years and especially immediately after the civil unrest. After over fifty years from the time our people (first set of Ndi Abia) left and thereafter we joined them to resettle in Austria. Meanwhile, we are now part and parcel of Austria – “Igbo Nigerians in Central Europe”.
Despite that, we have traced our early root to Agulueri/ Nri and Arochukwu Kingdoms in the South East of Nigeria. We further dug out our earliest root to Middle East between the bank of River Nile of Egypt and Israel. So we are supposed to be blood relations to Israel because our earliest father from whom we all ascended left his kindred (Israelis) in Egypt as a result of inhumanity and tyrannical and suppression process going on as at then in Egypt and migrated with his family to Agulueri and later on to today’s Anambra State. That is to say, we are the “Jews of Nigeria” or better said the “Jews of Africa”
Having said that, we are simply the indigenes of Abia State (the God own State and people) carved out from the former Imo State during the political exercise on the creation of more states in Nigeria to diffuse tensions and political power blocks, designed to weaken some set of ethnic groups in the Nigerian policy.
We are part of the five Igbo ethnic Nationality and or States in the present day South East Geopolitical Zone in Nigeria and we speak Igbo as our mother language. In Nigeria we are over twenty five million (25mio) people in population. Today, we have established permanently in Europe, precisely in Austria to seek good living, promoting orderliness, peace, love and harmony amongst people of diverse backgrounds in today’s Global Village. That is not all, we are strongly and continually contributing to the economic wellbeing of our host country Austria.
